Danny R. Cooper

Danny R. Cooper, 66 of Pekin, passed away at 10:50 am, Monday, November 30, 2020 at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He was born to Omer & Bertie (Simer) Cooper on February 22, 1954 in Jackson, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents. Danny is survived by two sons, Danny Cooper of MN, and Chad Cooper of New York; one daughter, Tikina Cooper of Richmond, VA; twenty grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Cooper and Cleatus Cooper; and three sisters, Diane Bouchez, Teresa Tomlinson, and Anette Frye. He worked as a fabricator at Caterpillar, and later at WABCO. Danny had a wonderful sense of humor, and he used it often to survive the struggles in life with a wit that was very rare. He loved to fish, play softball. He loved building Teepees, throwing Tomahawks, and just living the American Indian Life. His greatest treasure was time spent spoiling his grandchildren. Cremation has been accorded, and a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
