Daniel E. Arterberry

Daniel E. Arterberry, 65, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:23 AM Thursday, January 30, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Dan was born on March 12, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Eugene and Mary Jane (Stambaugh) Arterberry. He married Karen Hanson on June 21, 1969 in Menasha, WI. Preceding in death are his parents. Surviving are his wife, Karen of Pekin, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his cats, BG and Glory and Gordon Setters, Player and Giggy. Dan was employed at J.C. Penny's in Peoria last working Wednesday, Jan. 29. He was a member and past officer of the Illinois Valley Kennel Club and the Gordon Setter Club of America. He loved showing dogs and wood working. He was an avid St. Louis Blues and Peoria Rivermen fan, and an active participant in the Rivermen's 'adopt a player' program.He also enjoyed a glass of good red wine. A visitation celebrating Dan's life will from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. Cremation has been accorded.
