Dana J. Herold

Dana J. Herold, 69, of Pekin, IL passed away at 5:56 PM Thursday, January 18, 2024 at his home. Dana was born on April 21, 1954 in Portsmouth, VA to James D. and Dolores J. (Northrup) Herold. He married Cindy Royer on July 12, 1980 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim and best friend, Robin Conover. Surviving are: his wife, Cindy of Pekin; two sons, Beau (Christina) Herold of Columbia, TN and Brock (Katrina) Herold of Pekin and; his mom, Dolores of Pekin; he was waiting with great anticipation on the birth of twin grandchildren; his faithful companion, Hopper; many great friends and golfing buddies. Dana was a crane operator for Caterpillar, Inc. for 45 years retiring in 2018. He then worked as a driver for Uftring Auto Group, last working Wednesday, January 17th. He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of Pekin Moose Lodge #916, Peoria Sandtrappers Golf League and Caterpillar Golf League. He volunteered for Special Olympics and First Tee. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Vern Risner officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 23rd at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Center for Prevention of Abuse or Special Olympics.
