D. Virginia Bailey

D. Virginia Hackler Bailey 98, of Pekin, passed away at 12:06 am, Monday, October 29, 2018 at Pekin Manor. Virginia was born November 10, 1919 in Pekin to Louis and Dorothy (Hoff) Hackler. She married James Ketcham in 1938, he died in 1946. She later married Thomas Bailey January 16, 1948, he died January 28, 2010. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one grandson, James McKinney in 2007. She is survived by three daughters, Karen Woods of Manito, Connie (Larry) Wolters of Pekin, and Jan (Dennis) Harney of Kahuku, HI; five grandchildren, Amy Hadley of Topeka, Angela Bushman of San Diego, CA, Jeff Sangalli of Peoria and Kristi (David) Alexander of Pekin, Reis (Jaymee) Harney of Santa Monica, CA; five great granddaughters; and one great grandson. Virginia was a life-long member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, former member of Fidelis Sunday School class and Key '73 Bible Class, and Pekin Hospital Auxillary. She was a secretary at Willow and Douglas Grade Schools, later retiring as a real estate agent with Olt and Griffin Realtors. Her funeral service will be at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Pastor Dr. Brian Byrne officiating. Visitation will be before the service on Saturday, from 11:30 - 12:30 AM.Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to TAPS or Illinois Cancer Care Foundation.
