Cyril "Duke" Duthoo

Cyril F. 'Duke' Duthoo, 74, of Pekin, IL passed away at 1:55 AM Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Pekin Hospital. Cyril was born on January 28, 1939 in Pekin to Gustave and Dorothy (Neill) Duthoo. He married Donna Lawson on November 1, 1980 in Pekin. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are: his wife, Donna of Pekin; two daughters, Melanie (Rick) Wallinger of Pekin and Sharon (Chris) Woodruff of Tucson, AZ; one son, Tom (Jessica) Kennemer of Pekin; four grandchildren, Bethany (Tony) Pullen of Peoria, IL, Ashley Woodruff of Tucson, AZ, Jason and Tyler Kennemer of Pekin; one brother, Jim (Pat) Duthoo of Princeville, IL; two sisters, Carol (Chuck) Riley and Linda Young both of Pekin; father in law and mother in law, Carl and Mary Lawson of Pekin. Cyril was a 1958 graduate of Pekin High School. He worked for Midwest Foundation for many years. He and Donna moved to Florida in 1984 where he worked for Walgreens for 10 years. After retiring and returning to Pekin he was employed at Pekin Country Club until 2002. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin, Carpenter's Local 644 and Pekin Moose Lodge 916. He was a diehard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. His favorite pastimes were fishing, camping & vacationing anywhere sunny. Family & friends would all agree the one word that comes to mind when you remember Cyril would be 'Unique' from the top of his silver locks to the tip of his 'NO' toe. He loved life, family, friends and most of all his whiskey. Cremation will be accorded. A Celebration of Cyril's Life will be from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Roxy's Lanes 114 N. 3rd Street Pekin. In his honor, the family requests you wear your favorite sports attire.
