Connie L. Scherer

Connie Lou Scherer, 70, of Pekin, formerly of Princeton, IL. sadly passed away at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria on April 30th, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Doris (Pratt) Peterson, and one sister, Kathie Willis. She is survived by; her husband, Harold, one son, Chris Sondgeroth of Metamora, IL; one daughter, Michelle (Mark) Cook of Pekin; two grandchildren, Braden and Baylee Fogal; three step-sons, Will (Susan) Scherer of Kennesaw, GA, John (Nicole) Scherer of Fishers IN, Paul (Jennifer) Scherer of Pekin; one step-daughter, Margaret (Jim) Segersten of McHenry, IL; seven step-grandchildren, Will, Shamus, Marisa, Hannah, Alex, Jacob, and Olivia Scherer. Connie's vivacious personality, wealth of selflessness and friendly smile will be sorely missed by all of her friends and family. She showed a meticulous touch to her talents such as antiquing, sewing and quilting, along with cooking people's favorite foods. Connie also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Oaks Community Church, 1868 Congregation Rd, Dahinda, IL with Pastor Marty Briney. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. An additional visitation will also be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home and Crematory, 2131Velde Dr., Pekin, IL. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Glendale Memorial Cemetery 18119 State Route 9, Pekin, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Oaks Community Church.
