Cohen Jacob Burress

Cohen Jacob Burress, of Pekin, was born sleeping on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born February 7, 2026, in Peoria, to his loving parents, DeLaney Holmes and Jacob Burress.

Cohen is survived by his parents, DeLaney and Jacob of Pekin; his maternal grandparents, Christina Bohm and Brody Holmes, both of Pekin; his paternal grandparents, Sabra (Patrick) Maurice of Sarasota, Florida; and his paternal step-grandmother, Pam Burress of Pekin. He is also lovingly remembered by his maternal uncles, Kodi Holmes and Tripp Holmes, both of Pekin; his paternal aunt, Jalin (Matt Shannon) Burress of Johnson City, Tennessee; and his paternal uncle, Jordan (Michaela) Abegg of Manito, Illinois; and his fur siblings, Knox and Maverick.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Andrew Burress; his maternal great-grandmother, Linda Bohm; and his cousin, Lucas Abegg, who now hold him close.

Cohen was deeply loved from the moment he was expected and will be forever cherished in the hearts of his family.

Cremation will be accorded, and Inurnment will take place at a later date, next to his Papa Andrew, at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
