Christopher G. Gensel

Christopher G. Gensel, 49 of Pekin, passed away at 2:16 pm, Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at his home. He was born to Mark and Mary (Verheyen) Gensel in Pekin on February 19, 1975. Chris is survived by his parents, Mary Gensel and Mark Gensel; three sons, Tyler Gensel of Peoria, Thadius (Cassie) Gensel of Cleveland, TX, and Ayden Gensel of Pekin; one sister, Desiree Gensel of Pekin; and his Pitbull, Alakay. Chris brightened every room he walked into and had a great sense of humor. He never met a stranger, and had the ability to strike up a conversation with everyone he met. He had a heart of gold and would always stand up for what was right. Chris enjoyed bicycling and coin and other assorted collecting. He was a true conspiracy theorist and would spend hours researching them. He loved his family and treasured the time spent with them. He will be greatly missed. His memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Rev Clifford Elliott officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to T.A.P.S. in Pekin.
