Charles A. Wilson

Charles A. Wilson, age 92, of Knoxville, TN (formerly of the Peoria, IL area) went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 4:05 PM EST, while resting peacefully in his home with wife, Eleanor and other family members near him.

Charles was a grateful member of the body of Christ, having come to faith in his twenties, sharing his faith with his parents, the world and passing that legacy on to progeny. He was greatly loved by those who knew him well for these admirable qualities, integrity, and his love of God’s Word. He loved fishing, boating, traveling and helping others.

His education and career included four years in the U.S. Air Force, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, worked 20 years in Management with Caterpillar, Inc. (Peoria, IL), and as Inventory Control Mgr. for Stower’s Machinery in Knoxville, TN.

Charles was preceded in death by his father and mother, Marlowe and Marie (Sherman) Wilson, his wife of 40 years, Shirley Wilson, daughter, Christina Colson, great granddaughter, Eris Montgomery and step-son, Jim Burnette.

Charles is survived by his second wife of 30 years, Eleanor Wilson, daughters, Rhonda Vogel, Victoria (Gary) Cox and Kim (Dale) Montgomery, son-in-law, Randy Colson, step-daughters, Kimberly (Ernie) Bosch and Lori (Ray) Brewer, 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 8 great- great grandchildren and 3 great-great step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito, IL with military honors provided by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
