Charles H Whitney

Charles H. Whitney, 82, passed away at 9:37 a.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Pekin Hospital. Charlie was born in St. Louis, MO on July 24, 1931 to Kenneth and Ruby (Benfield) Whitney.He married Sandra Pitman on June 2, 1999 in Sparks, NV.She survives. Also surviving is: one son, Rick Whitney of Missouri, three daughters, Lori McCoy of Pekin, Kathleen (John) Wood and Laurie Green both of Missouri, one stepson, James Haas of Ohio, two stepdaughters, Janet (Dave) Fopay of Mattoon, IL and Julie Haas of Bloomington, IL.Also surviving is one sister, Shirley Wicker of St. Louis, MO and one sister-in-law, Mildred Whitney of Napa, CA, eleven grandchildren, one step grandson and several great grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jerry, one son-in-law, Jim McCoy and one stepson, John Haas. Charlie was employed in sales last working for Frabimore Equipment retiring in September of 1995.He had a 50 year membership with Mizpah Mt. Moriah # 40AF & AM in Florissant Missouri. Charlie was an avid golfer, a Mr.Fix It and St. Louis Cardinal fan. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 Am on Saturday.Inurnment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to Tazewell Animal Protective Society (T.A.P.S.) in Pekin.
