Charles F. Jarvill

Charles F. Jarvill, 83, of Pekin, IL passed away at 4:58 AM Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Pekin Hospital. Chuck was born on March 20, 1930 in Payson, IL to Floyd and Bertha (Cooper) Jarvill. He married Ann Sapp on August 20, 1955 in Summer Hill, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is: his wife, Ann of Pekin; two sons, Steven (Lori) Jarvill of Pekin and Craig (Marilyn) Jarvill of Reston, VA; two grandchildren, Drae (Melissa) Jarvill of Pekin, IL and Dara (Tyler) Funk of Silverdale, WA; three step grandchildren, Harry Layman of New York, NY, James (Lauren) Layman of Burlington, VT and Colleen (Seric) Fallon of Miami, FL; four great grandchildren, Lexi, Lauren and Kami Jarvill and Anders Funk; one step great granddaughter, Claire Layman:one brother, Robert (Lu) Jarvill of Quincy, IL. Chuck graduated from Quincy High School in 1948 and the University of Illinois in 1955. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in the accounting department at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years retiring in 1986. Chuck was a member of the First Christian Church in Pekin, Sunset Golf Club, Elks Lodge #1271 and Pekin Moose Lodge #916. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He bowled a '300' game in 1964 and had seven 'hole-n-ones'.He was honored with the Al Weaver Integrity award during the 2004 Best Ball.He was inducted into the Greater Pekin Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1992. A visitation celebrating Chuck's life will be from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. Cremation will be accorded.
