Celeste Louise Goss

Celeste L. Goss, 85 of Pekin passed away at 1:55 am Wednesday, September 09, 2009 at Timber Creek Rehab and Health Center in Pekin where she had been a resident since December 2006. Celeste was born on January 8, 1924 in McClure, IL to Albert F. and Flona H. (Jackson) Kaufman. She married William L. Holmes on May 23, 1942 in Jackson, MO. He passed away on May 25, 1963. She then married Clifford Goss on December 10, 1966 in Pekin. Preceding in death were her parents, her first husband, and two brothers, Virgil and James Kaufman. Surviving are: her husband, Cliff of Pekin; one daughter, Helen Hauser of Creve Coeur, IL; one step son, Harry L. (Susan) Goss of Pekin; two step daughters, Judith K. Krupps of Pekin and Rita M. Upchurch of Lewistown, IL; one granddaughter, Sherri L Tisdale of Bartonville, IL; two great grandchildren, Lance M. and Sarah L. Tisdale both of Bartonville, IL; six step grandchildren, Jack (Kelley) Sandall, Jill (Brad) McKinley, Dawn Upchurch, Dianna (Doug) Halstead, Rick Upchurch and Joey Lynn (Thomas) DeVore: nine step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild; two brothers, Thomas E. (Maudie) Kaufman of Pekin and Robert D. (Peggy) Kaufman of McClure, IL; one sister, Ruth A. (Don) Sides of Jackson, MO and sister-in-law, Reva Kaufman of Pekin. Celeste attended the First Baptist Church in Pekin. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning and camping.
