Carol K. Lawson

Carol K. Lawson, 73, of Pekin, IL passed away at 4:12 PM Friday, December 23, 2016 in the emergency room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Carol was born on July 25, 1943 in Pekin to Harold and Peggy (Nelson) Samms. She married William Lawson on September 19, 1960 in Havana, IL. Preceding in death are her parents and one sister, Barb Richey. Surviving are: her husband, Bill of Pekin; three children, Teri (Tom) Gude of Clayton, IN, Mike Lawson of Pekin and Debra (Craig) Cooney of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Tim and Nick Gallico, Katilyn Stout, Zachary Cooney, Nathan Lawson, Seth and Grace Cooney; Carol was expecting her first great grandchild next July; one sister, Janie Murray of Oklahoma. Carol provided child care in her home to many children for over 40 years. She enjoyed sewing by making newborn blankets and clothes for her grandchildren. She loved her family! Following Carol's wishes there will be no services. Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Clinic.
