Carol R. Gluba, 70, of Cambridge, IL and formerly of Pekin passed away at 2:22 AM Friday, July 5, 2019 at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Carol was born on May 19, 1949 in Pekin to Raymond F. and Caroline M. (Mott) Edmonds. She married Jan Gluba on December 27, 1980 in Pekin. He passed away November 1, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are: one daughter, Nancy (Don) Stewart of Cambridge, IL and one step daughter, Andrea Young of Bartonville; three grandchildren, Jacob E. Todd, Kelsey R. Todd and Mitchell L. Todd; two great grandchildren, Camdin and Phoebe Todd; one brother, Thad R. (Janice) Edmonds of Dunlap, IL; two nephews, Thad R. Edmonds of Hanna City and Alex Hazuda of Evans, GA. Carol was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. She was a teacher at South Pekin Grade School for 35 years retiring in 2007. She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Pekin. She loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren. Cremation has been accorded. A communion service will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at St. Paul Episcopal Church. Inurnment will take place in the church columbarium.
