Carol S. Becker

Carol S. Becker, 78, of Pekin passed away at 1:00 PM Friday, June 15, 2018 at her home. Carol was born on February 29, 1940 in Fairbury, IL to Paul and Magdalene (Kuntz) Goembel. She married Kenneth E. Becker on October 8, 1961 in Pekin. He passed away on February 2, 1992. Also preceding in death are her parents, four brothers, Paul, Phil, Don and William Goembel, one sister, Linda Vaughan. Surviving are: three sons, Michael Becker of Pekin, David (Jessica) Becker of Manito and Jonathan (Barbara) Becker of Pekin; two daughters, Ricki (Joe) Belcher and LeaAnn Becker both of Pekin; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Mackay of White Bear Lake, MN, Kay Mills of Normal, IL and Peggy (Duane) Anderson of Gibson City, IL; one brother, Charlie (Sandra) Goembel of Strawn, IL.; one brother-in-law, Richard 'Dick' Becker of Pekin. Carol was a registered nurse at Pekin Hospital for over 30 years. She then worked at Community Care for 5 years. Carol was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Peoria Sportsman's Club. She enjoyed playing pinnacle, reading and skeet shooting. She loved to bake cookies. She enjoyed being a leap year baby. Memorial services will be at 6:00 PM Friday, June 22 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Bruce Lakamp officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Private Inurnment will be Saturday in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
