Carol L. Barger

Carol L. Barger, 76, of Pekin, IL passed away at 11:41 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at her home.

Carol was born on July 12, 1949, in Pekin to Thomas G. and Betty J. (Nelson) Vaughn. She married Ronald C. Barger on May 8, 1971, in Pekin, and together they shared many years of marriage until his passing on June 19, 2022.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one infant son, Aaron E. Barger, who passed away on May 8, 1975.

Surviving is: one son, Timothy R. Barger of Pekin; one daughter, Varonda (Clint) Morris of Pekin; eleven grandchildren, Matthew Ripper, Noah Ripper, Emily (Chase) Brackney, Isabella Barger, Wyatt Barger, Cody (Mallory) Morris, Dustin Rasmussen, Tabatha Morris, Emily Morris all of Pekin; Alexis Phillips of South Pekin, and CJ (Callie) Morris of Atlus, OK; one great-grandchild, Hudson Brackney; and one sister, Sandra Bailey of Mountain View, MO.

Carol was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Pekin where she actively participated in the prayer chain. She enjoyed crafting and researching genealogy, taking great pride in learning about her family’s history and preserving those connections for future generations.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Randy Justus officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
