Carol Antonini

Carol Antonini, 70, of Pekin passed quietly away at 7:15 am Monday, August 08, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her family. Carol was born August 12, 1940 in Pekin to Horace and Gladys (Miles) Calico. She married Eugene 'Gene' Antonini and celebrated their 50th anniversary on February 4th. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Denny. Surviving are: her husband, Gene of Pekin; two sons,Mark (Nadine) Antonini of Palos Heights, IL and Todd (Tracy) Antonini of Houston, TX; three granddaughters, Melena, Francesca and Giannetta Antonini; one brother, Michael Calico of Houston, TX; one sister, Helen (Milo) Palovona of Houston, TX; along with many nieces and nephews. Carol was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, a great person and friend. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was an inspiration to many and she held a special place in the hearts of her numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.She enjoyed traveling and especially looked forward to spending the winter months among friends in Florida.She was an avid cook and very active in the local Thunderbird car club. After 25 years, she retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 2000. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Thursday, August 11, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Wednesday. Entombment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
