Carl C. Lister

Carl C. Lister, 83, of Marianna, FL formerly of Pekin passed away at 7:53 PM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Apostolic Christian Skylines - Nursing Center in Peoria Heights, IL. Carl was born on June 15, 1935 in Oakford, IL to Walter Paul and Ethel Marie (Pedigo) Lister. He married Joyce (Davis) McGhee on July 2, 1955 in Pekin. He married Joy (Macumber) Goodrich on April 9, 1998 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Carl C. Lister and eight brothers and sisters. Surviving are: his wife, Joy (Marini)Lister of Mariana, FL; three children, Gwen (Randy) Jester of Canton, IL, Carl 'Steve' (Tina) Lister of Pekin and Lisa Kenser of Canton, IL; two step children, John (Laura) Goodrich of Mapleton, IL and Jennifer (Mark) Davis of Orlando, FL; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one brother, Virgil "Butch" (Joyce) Lister of Pekin. Carl was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. Carl was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a lifelong member of the Pekin Eagles Lodge.He drove a semi for Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years retiring in 1989. After retirement he also worked at 14th Street Hardware, Hanks Hardware and ran Carl's Home Repair. His favorite activities included camping and fishing with his family, carpentry, tinkering in his shop and making things for his family members. A celebration of Carl's life will be from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Pekin Eagle's Lodge, 274 Derby St. Pekin.
