Candace L. Bumbalough, 45, of Pekin, Illinois, passed away at 2:29 PM on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by her family.
Born on September 9, 1980, in Peoria, Illinois, to Curtis and Patti (McLaughlin) Baldwin, Candace lived a life full of warmth, creativity, and devotion to those she held dear. On May 28, 2021, she married the love of her life, Anthony "Tony" Bumbalough, in East Peoria, beginning a cherished chapter of their lives together.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted husband, Tony, of Pekin; her parents, Curtis (Nicole) Baldwin of Plymouth, IL and Patti McLaughlin of East Peoria; her seven cherished children: Charli Bumbalough (precede in death), Ashton Puckett of Stanford, IL, Aeriston Puckett of Pekin, Sully Bumbalough, Hollis Bumbalough, Jase Bumbalough all of Pekin, and Alexis (Tyler) Donald of North Pekin; and her precious granddaughter, Lainey Donald, who brought her endless joy. Candace is also survived by her five brothers: Shane Snyder of Peoria, Stan (Cindy) Baldwin of Macomb, Adrian (Katie) Baldwin of Plymouth, Illinois, Tyler Troyer of East Peoria, and William (Kennedy) Baldwin of Macomb; her sister, Tanya Troyer of East Peoria; and her loving in-laws, Randy and Mary Bumbalough of Marquette Heights; in laws, Pat and Angie Bumbalough of Pekin and Randy and Trisha Bumbalough Jr. Idaville, IN Her large and close-knit family was a testament to her ability to foster connection and love wherever she went.
A faithful member of The Journey Church in East Peoria, Candace found solace and strength in her spiritual community. Her vibrant spirit shone through in her passions, which included losing herself in the pages of a good book, expressing her creativity through coloring, and nurturing her beloved plants, which thrived under her care, fishing and target shooting with her family. Above all, Candace's heart belonged to her family—her children and granddaughter were the center of her world, and she poured boundless love and energy into creating precious memories with them.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Candace’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 2131 Velde Dr, Pekin, with Pastor Brock Winkler officiating. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on the same day, prior to the service. Cremation will be accorded.
Candace’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. Her laughter, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be cherished forever.
