Calvin Eugene Taylor

Calvin Eugene (Cal) Taylor, 92 of Pekin passed away at 4:37 pm, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at St. Claras Rehab and Senior Care in Lincoln. Cal was born on September 9, 1931 to Calvin Guy and Della Catherine (Lord) Taylor in South Pekin, IL, He married Dorothy Eileen "Dot" Mann on June 26, 1965 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2017. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Lila Taylor (Wilbur) Leesman; and one infant nephew. Cal is survived by several nieces and nephews including Cheryl (Dan) Lemme of Lincoln, IL Cal served in the 8th Air Force during Korean War as an instrument technician servicing the B-36 Bomber. He attended Browns School of Business in Peoria. He worked as an instrument repairman at Commercial Solvents in Peoria for 14 years, in the Galvanizing Department of Keystone Steel & Wire Co. and retired from the office of R.A. Cullinan & Son after 27 years of service. He was a volunteer escort at Pekin Hospital and the Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. He attended Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday December 29, 2023 at the Glendale Memorial Gardens and Chapel Mausoleum with Pastor Phil Icenogle. There will be a visitation one hour prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also at the Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to TAPS in Pekin.
