Brad B. Herbig

Brad B. (Herbie) Herbig, 62, of Manito, IL passed away at 3:05 AM Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Brad was born on February 10, 1959 in Peoria, IL to Bernard and Dorothy J. (Glass) Herbig. He married Connie Morris on September 18, 1993. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Connie of Manito; one son, Gaige Herbig of Manito; one daughter, Erin Herbig of Manito; one granddaughter, Avalyn King; one sister, Tracy (Steve) Ballard of Arlington, TX., and several nieces and nephews. Brad worked at various jobs in the Pekin area including the railroad, Keystone, Tazewell Machine, and Sommer Brothers Seed Company / Syngenta. He later worked for the Village of Manito until he was diagnosed with cancer in August 2019. He was a volunteer fireman for the Forman Fire Protection District for 16 years. He was a long-time member of Ducks Unlimited and an avid waterfowl hunter. Brad enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will always be remembered for his ability to make people laugh! Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manito with Pastor Matthew Berndt officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00PM 8:00 PM Friday, August 27th at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory and from 10:00 AM 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito. Family and friends will gather at the Forman Center for a meal and to celebrate Brads life immediately following the burial. Everyone is welcome. Please join the family in sharing memories of Brad. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with medical expenses.
