Bill R. Disney

Pekin, IL - Bill R. Disney, 75, 1905 Vicksburg Ct.passed away at 4:40 am Friday, January 26, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Bill was born January 8, 1932 in Harrisburg, IL to Joe Wheeler and Justine Humphrey Disney. He married Connie Phillips of Ridgway, IL on November 19, 1960 in Carbondale, IL. He is survived by; his wife, Connie of Pekin; one son, Brian (and Lisa) Disney of Peoria, IL; one daughter, Jo (and Aaron) Johnson of Morton, IL; five grandchildren, Rachel Alyssa and Valerie Disney of Peoria, Will and Ava Johnson of Morton; one brother, Don (and Naida) Disney of Peoria; two sisters, Mary Jane (and Robert) Greiner of Peoria and Linda (and Robert) Goodall of Normal, IL. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael P. Disney on November 13, 2002. A proud graduate of Muddy Grade School and Harrisburg High School, he worked at Caterpillar prior to serving in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. He then attended and graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He taught in Virden, IL from 1961-1967 and was a counselor at Pekin Community High School from 1967-1992. Following his retirement he worked at Menards in the electrical department until 2001. Bill was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church. He also belonged to the National Education Association, Illinois Retired Teachers and the American Legion.
