Bertha Oedewaldt

Bertha Oedewaldt, 101, of Pekin passed away at 7:43 am Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. Bertha was born December 24, 1915 to Carl and Marie (Denker) Lohrenz in New Holland, IL.She married Adam Oedewaldt October 15, 1933. He passed away in 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gilbert Oedewaldt; one daughter Bernice Froehlich; four brothers; two sisters and one grandchild. Bertha is survived by one son, Adlai (Janet) Oedewaldt of Kentucky; two daughters, Evelyn (Floyd) Eeten of Pekin and Marcella (Virgil) Stetler of Mapleton; one daughter-in-law, Sally Oedewaldt of Pekin; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Bertha was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, puzzles, bingo, needle work, word books, and playing cards.She was a devoted mother and grandmother. One of her greatest joys was her family and she especially enjoyed going to dinner with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of First Christian Church. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin.Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 21 at the funeral home.
