Bertha A. Oats

Bertha A. Oats, 95, of 1014 S. 13th Street passed away at 6:50 am Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Pekin Hospital. Bertha was born on July 3, 1911 in Pekin to Hank and Tena Weber Everwien DeBoer. She married Ray E. Oats December 24, 1933 in Pekin. He passed away on August 4, 1984. Preceding her in death are three brothers and seven sisters. Surviving are: one daughter, Gloria Pitts of Pekin; two grandchildren, Roy Pitts of Creve Coeur and Raylene Pitts of Pekin; three great grandchildren, Charity, Zackary and Nicole; three great great grandchildren, Gage, Bryson and Jayden; one sister, Marion Hart of Pekin. Bertha was a member of the Second Reformed Church in Pekin. She had been active in many areas of the church including, Volunteer Society, Friendship Circle, Voyagers Ladies Bible Class, and she was on the prayer chain of the Church.Bertha loved to bake.She had been a clerk at Pekin Dry Goods and Carps Dept. Store in downtown Pekin.
