Bernice M. Barnard, 94, of Pekin passed away at 1:56 PM Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Pekin Manor. Bernice was born on March 15, 1923 in Tremont, IL to Carl and Anna (Weishaupt) Huette. She married Edward E. Barnard on March 25, 1944 in Tremont, IL. He passed away on June 20, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one great great granddaughter, Ashley Spencer and two sisters, Betty Paine and Dorothy Marie Huette. Surviving are: two sons, Terry (Rose) Barnard of Pekin, IL and James (Ruth) Barnard of Lacey, WA; one sister, Shirley Jost of Castlerock, CO;five grandchildren, Rose Goyen, Teresa, Carl andJeremy Barnard and Christopher (Nancy) Simpson; seven great grandchildren, Nastassia (Lance Spencer) Barnard, Scott (Mystia) Goyen and Danielle (Brad Bronnbauer) Goyen, Toni (Gavin) Childers and Chase (Mandy Brenning) Langloss, Jacob and Natalie Simpson; seven great great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Stacy and Mylah Spencer, Aleah Goyen, Gracie Bronnbauer, Chase Huntley Langloss and Maddie Childers. Bernice was a member of the First Christian Church in Pekin. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, July 28, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Pekin with Rev. Hank Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Thursday, July 27th at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin and from 10:15 AM - 10:45 AM Friday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 1201 Chestnut St. Pekin, IL 61554.
