Bennie Leroy Lee

Omaha, NE Bennie Leroy Lee, 75 of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 in Omaha. Born July 5, 1945 in Pekin to John Edgar and Ella Mae (Landrith) Lee, he married Diana Edwards on September 4, 1966 in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Traci (Jim) Whitbeck and Lisa Lee both of Omaha; three grandchildren, Brittany (Dean) Gubbles, William (Amber) Koons, Jr. and August Whitbeck; two great-grandchildren, Blaze and Haven; two sisters, Lydia A. (William Ickabod) Lasley, II and Christy L. (Jerry) Gray both of Pekin, two brothers John L. Dago (Melissa) Lee of Green Valley and William E. Punk (Janet) Lee of Pekin and several nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bennie went in the United States Army in 1963 retiring in 1985 after 22 years and retired after 25 years with the United States Postal Service in 2010. Bennie enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin with Pastor Heather Robertson officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing of masks will be followed. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin with Military Honors provided by the United States Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
