Belinda Jean Herndon

Belinda Jean Herndon, 70 of Forest City passed away at 3:15 am, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at UnityPoint Health - Methodist Hospital in Peoria. She was born to Vernie and Mary Lou (Blackburn) Hoerr in Topeka, KS on August 11, 1952. Belinda married Wayne Herndon on April 23, 1977 in Petersburg, IL. Belinda was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Brandon Herndon, and one sister, Mary Watkins. She is survived by; her husband, Wayne; three sons, Patrick (Shanna) Herndon of Good Hope, IL, Steve (Pam Oesch) Herndon of Pekin, and Christopher (Jessica) Herndon of Forest City; two daughters, Jennifer (Bruce Kettwich) Herndon of Washington, IL and Marianne Herndon of Pekin; seven grandchildren; Autumn Herndon, Caitlin Herndon, Zoe Willis, Hailey Sutton, Hayden Sutton, Hadleigh Sutton, and Alice Herndon; and one sister, Gloria Hoerr of Long Beach, CA. Belinda was a proud member of the Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society. She enjoyed Cross-stitch and working puzzles. She was fan of the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks and any football on TV, but liked the Green Bay Packers. One of her favorite times of the year was during the Stanley Cup Hockey Playoffs. No matter what was on tv though, when her grandchildren were visiting, or she was asked to babysit, she was all in. Family really was her greatest treasure. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Belinda will be greatly missed. Her funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, February 17, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr, Pekin, IL. with Rev. Jeff Leeman officiating. A visitation will be held the evening prior from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Thursday, February 16, 2023 also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Pekin, IL.
