Barbara E. White

Barbara E. White, 88, of Pekin passed away at 2:32 AM Sunday, July 08, 2012 at Pekin Hospital. Barbara was born on December 19, 1923 in Rock Island County, Illinois to Andrew M. and Mary E. (Plank) Garrett. She married Edward L. White on June 24, 1945 in Danvers, IL. He passed away on May 18, 1964. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Lee White, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and three brothers. Surviving is: three daughters, Mary Jo Rowell of South Pekin, Barbara Jean Bowers of Pekin and Kathleen Preston of Marquette Heights; nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; one brother, John H. Garrett of Groveland, IL. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 10 at the funeral home.Burial will be Stouts Grove Cemetery in Danvers, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
