Barbara Theleritis

Barbara Theleritis, 81, of Pekin, IL passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.

Barb was born on February 10, 1944 in Findlay, OH to Dale and Cartha (Fetters) Critchet. She married Chris Theleritis on November 25, 1967. He passed away on April 1, 2005.

Also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dallas Critchet and Dennis Critchet and sister-in-law, Jenny Critchet.

Surviving are: two sons, Thomas (Erin) Theleritis and Jeffrey (Angela) Theleritis both of Pekin; six grandchildren, Quinn Theleritis, Avery Theleritis, Lindsey (Cody) Comstock, Maesyn (Conner) Glidewell, Olivia Theleritis and Cooper Theleritis; two great grandchildren, Beckett Glidewell and Emerson Comstock; one sister, Sandy (Mark) Micheli of Upper Sandusky, OH; sister-in-law, Marilyn Crichet, step brother, Jim (Emma) Reile of Upper Sandusky, OH and step sister, Kathy (Nolan) Green of Jacksonville,Tx.

Barb was a devoted and longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she joyfully served in the Ladies Guild. When her sons were in grade school, she gave generously of her time and leadership, serving as president of the PTA and as Den Mother for Cub Scout Troop #93. Her spirit of service continued throughout her life as she volunteered at TAPS, the Pekin Hospital Gift Shop, and Ewe’s Treasures, touching countless lives with her kindness and dedication.

She was a wonderful Yiayia to her grandkids! She never missed a dance recital, sporting event, graduation, or other important moments in her grandchildren’s lives. She was a Yiayia to everyone who had the privilege of meeting her!

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, December 12, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel Bishop officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Thursday, December 11th at the funeral home and from 9:45 AM – 10:15 AM Friday at the church. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
