Barbara Smith

Pekin-Barbara Mae Smith 80 of Pekin passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home at 8:35 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015. Barb was born in Pekin, October 27, 1934, to Martin N. and Lillian D. Schuetts Larkin.She married Raymond G. Smith in 1971 at Pekin. He passed away in 2007.She is also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Larkin and one sister, Frances Jean Knaak. Surviving Barb are two daughters, Laurie (Mark) Godar of Washington, IL, Vicki Larkin of Petersburg, IL, and one step-daughter Sheila (John) Pfeifer of Princeville, IL; three grandchildren, Emily Norris, Greg and Mark Pfeifer; eight great grandchildren, Abby, twins Emmy and Ally Norris, Alex, Jackson, Kylie, Jacqueline and John Pfeifer; one sister-in-law Jeanie Larkin and one brother-in-law Wayne Knaak; and several nieces and nephews. Barb worked as a Sales Clerk for many years for her family's business, Larkin's Bakery in Pekin. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.Barb enjoyed Reading, going out to eat and spending time with family. Cremation rites have been accorded.A private Celebration of Life Service will be held. Memorial Contributions may be directed to TAPS Pekin, IL or the American Lung Association
