Barbara Pfanz

Barbara Pfanz, 88, of Pekin, IL passed away at 8:44am Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Reflections Memory Care in Pekin. Barb was born on April 6, 1934 in Pekin to Henry and Ollie (Jenkins) Walbert. She married Jack Pfanz on September 25, 1955 at St. Paul United Church of Christ. He passed away on March 31, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and one brother. Surviving are: son, Mark (Tomi) Pfanz of Pekin; two daughters, Mary Pfanz and Sandy (Corey) Miller, both of Pekin; two grandchildren, Christopher (Brook) Pfanz of Green Valley and Cory Pfanz of Pekin; two great grandchildren, Kade and Kasen Pfanz; two sisters, Helen Hundermer and Betty Johnson, both of Pekin. Barb worked at Sodwedel Dairy Farm, where she met her husband Jack. In 1957, Barb and Jack began owning and operating the farm, retiring after 47 years in 2000. She was a member of Second Reformed Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and also part of the prayer chain for over 50 years. Barbs greatest treasure was her family and time spent with them. She loved to bake, and cherished the many Sunday night family dinners over the years. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., in Pekin with Rev. Chuck Grogan officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior also on Saturday from 9:00 AM 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
