Barbara "Jill" Davis

Barbara 'Jill' Davis, 69 of Pekin passed away at 8:15 pm, Monday, January 14, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Jill was born August 2, 1943 in Pekin to John H. and Bette V. (Cooper) Harris. Jill is survived by one daughter, Alison (Charles) Taylor of Woodstock, VT; two grandchildren, Davis Walker Taylor and Kendall Harris Taylor; one brother, Jon (Kathy) Harris of Pekin; one of her greatest joys of her life,her longtime companion, Steve Eyrse of Pekin. She was preceded by her parents. Jill became a registered nurse in 1964 in Chicago where she worked for Westley Memorial Hospital. She also worked with the Chicago Board of Health, Home Health where she would go to family's homes helping at risk newborns.Jill later moved to Boston where she was a host parent of MTCO student, Brownie Leader, New Comers Club, President of League of Women Voters. While in Boston in 1996 she received her Masters Degree from Regis College.She began her career at Metro West Medical Center as a visiting nurse then she became Director of Continuing Care Unit. She enjoyed needlework, traveling and gardening.One of her greatest loves was going to Florida every year spending time on the beaches and watching the dolphins.She enjoys spending time with her friends and her grandkids, the joy of her life.Jill was an avid New England Patriots and Chicago Bears football fan.She was of the protestant faith. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 21, 2013 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin with a visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.Rev. Dwight Winnett will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
