Barbara H. Bays

Barbara H. Bays, 67, formerly of Havana passed away at 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Alure Nursing home in Galesburg. Barbara was born March 7, 1956 in Jasper, Alabama to Julius and Helen (Peppers) Freeman. She married Lloyd Bays. He passed away several years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Alicia Bays, one infant daughter, Tiffany and grandson, Dustin Hedrick, nephew, Leonard Woodward and niece, Margaret Hartley. Barbara is survived by two sisters, Reva Harris of Sylacauga, AL, and Nadine Starr of Canton, IL; one brother, Jimmy Freeman of Walnut, MS; three grandchildren, Zoee, Zander and Noah; nieces and nephews, Tammy Harwell, Amanda Webb, Jody Wilder, Shannon Alred and Lucas Havens. Barbara was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing and country western music. She was of the Baptist faith. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM 11:00 AM Monday, July 24, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Graveside services will be at 11:30 AM Monday at Glendale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Chaplain Zachary Hunter officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or a charity of donors choice.
