Archie T. Green Sr.

Archie T. Green Sr. 78, of Pekin, IL passed away at 3:08 AM Thursday, July 08, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Pekin Hospital. Archie was born on July 30, 1942 in Charleston, IL to Archibald Scott and Hulda Elizabeth (Lane) Green. He married Carol Schwindenhammer on July 25, 1970 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are: his wife, Carol of Pekin; two sons, Archie Green Jr and Jonathan Green both of Pekin; one daughter, Naomi (Hani Elsayed Othman Mahmoud) of Peoria; two grandchildren, Zackery D. and Vicktoria C. Gardiner; two brothers, Randy (Sandy) Reese of Eureka, IL and Larry (Mary) Reese of Pekin; two sisters, Norma (Terry) Wright of Taylorville, IL and Mary Francis (Ron) Kuebler. Archie was a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Caterpillar for 30 years retiring in 2008. He was a member of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in Pekin. He enjoyed airplanes, air shows and books. He loved serving the Lord by volunteering at his church. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, July 12, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Pastor Roger Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00AM 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery in Hanna City. Memorial contributions may be made to New Testament Missionary Baptist Church.
