Anthony P. Noe, Sr., 100, of Oak Hill, Brimfield, formerly a resident of Marquette Heights for 67 years passed away October 29, 2024 at Farmington Village in Farmington, Illinois. Tony was born May 26, 1924 to George and Catherine (Kneip) Noe in Worth Township, Woodford County. He was raised and worked on the family farm near Spring Bay where he helped raise melons and tomatoes which were sold to local grocers. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp and served from October, 1942 until October, 1945. He was one of four brothers who served during W.W.II. He was stationed in England and was a B-17 armorer. While in England he fell in love with Sheila Hutton, a pretty English girl, who worked at the U.S. Embassy in London. They wed in England on March 24, 1945 and were married for almost 75 years until her passing on February 28, 2020. After returning from the war he worked at Caterpillar and retired in 1982. He is survived by his children; Carol (Dick) Malson of Burnsville, NC; Linda (Terry) McCoy of Oak Hill with whom he made his home for the last 2 1/2 years; Anthony Jr. (Maria) Noe of San Antonio, TX; Sheila (John) Wald of Pekin; David Noe of Pekin; and Philip (Kathi) Noe of Davenport, FL; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brothers Edwin, George, Rudy, Leo ( who died in France in W.W.II), Melvin, Raymond and Ralph and his sisters Josephine Stalzer and Luella Scheirer, and one great grandson. Dad was a quiet humble man. He had a creative spirit and he and Mom with very little money but through hard work provided a lovely cozy home for their family. He took pride in his yard and created a beautiful English garden for his English bride. He carved and painted many ducks which he sold at various wildlife shows throughout central Illinois. When he took up baking his Christmas cookies were so beautifully decorated it was a shame to eat them. In the last six months of his life he discovered Irish Country music and Andre Rieu on YouTube and enjoyed viewing them on his 65" TV. He was a faithful member of Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur until its closure. He then attended mass and other religious services on television. Thanks to Therese for staying with Dad each Tuesday for the past six months so we could have a day out. Pretty sure you never knew of Irish Country before meeting Dad! Also, thanks to the Compassus team especially Nurses Chelsea and Sam who provided Dad with the comfort he needed and Spiritual Counselor Jordan who reached out to the Catholic diocese so Dad could receive Holy Communion and Last Rites administered by Monsignor Tim Nolan. Thanks also to the staff at Farmington Village. You all made the last two weeks of Dads life comfortable and peaceful as he transitioned to his heavenly home. You were a blessing to Dad and our family. A private service and inurnment will be held at Lakeside Mausoleum. Memorials May be made to T.A.P.S, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554
