Ann Mowrer

Ann Mowrer, 75, of Pekin passed away at 10:55 PM Friday, February 1, 2013 at her home with her family at her side. Ann was born on March 8, 1937 in Colorado to Raymond G. and Wanda E. (Long) Rock. She married Robert D. Mowrer on January 12, 1957 in Kansas City, MO. He passed away on December 22, 2009. Also preceding in death are her parents and one brother, Kenneth Rock. Surviving is: two sons, Robert Mowrer Jr. and Troy Mowrer both of Pekin and one grandson, Colin Mowrer of Pekin. Ann had served on the board of the Tazewell County Resource Center, Past President of the Pekin Hospital League and volunteered at Nearly Nu, member of the Pekin Country Club and Twin Oaks Parents Group. She was a former member of the Guardianship and Advisory Commission and Human Rights Authority. She was a past recipient of the YWCA Community service award. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and was a diehard Cubs fan. A special thank you to Beth Mowrer and Joyce Badali for their tireless round the clock care and compassion. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. Private burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
