Andrew P. “Andy” Burress, age 55, of Pekin, passed away January 15, 2026. Born to Paul and Margaret (Peg) Burress, Andy built a life defined by hard work, laughter, and love.
For 30 years, Andy dedicated himself to Cintas in Normal, Illinois, where he was known for his dependability, friendly spirit, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Andy found his greatest joy in time spent with family and friends. He loved riding his Harley alongside his wife, Pam, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium, and traveling—especially to beaches—where he created countless memories with those he loved most.
Andy is survived by his beloved wife, Pam Burress; his children Jordan (Michaela) Abegg, Jacob Burress (DeLaney Holmes), and Jalin Burress (Matt Shannon); and his cherished grandchildren Logan, Phoenix, Elizabeth, and Charolette Abegg, and Cohen Burress; and his furry dog children Cooper and Louie. He is also survived by his father Paul (Barbara) Burress; brothers Jim (Pam) Burress and Kent (Virginia) Burress; and step-siblings Brian (Wendy) Trotter and Kellee (Todd) Krull, Sister-in-law Valerie (Brian) Parr; and brother-in laws Vince (Pam) Lacey and Vance (Patty) Lacey and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Margaret (Peg) Burress; his mother-in-law Donna Davis, his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his grandson, Lucas Abegg.
Andy will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his kindness, and the way he made every moment count. His legacy will live on in the laughter of his family, the friendships he nurtured, and the love he shared so freely.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with the funeral following at 4:00 PM with Michael Lane officiating. His remains will be buried at a later date at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin next to his grandson Lucas.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 24th at the VFW in Morton, IL. Andy’s last request was that his family and friends join together for food, drink, music and laughter following his funeral services—a fitting tribute to a man who loved good company and a good time.
Andy’s family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Donations in honor of Andy can be made to Pet Pack Rescue Initiative, 8703 N. University St., Suite F, Peoria, IL 61615.
