Alton "Al" Hamilton

Alton M. 'Al' Hamilton, 62, of Peoria, IL passed away at 8:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria. Al was born on March 21, 1951in Athens, AL to Elam M. and Lura B. (Osborn) Hamilton. He married Marsha Snell on December 27, 1969 in Bradford, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, John R. Hamilton and Tony Hamilton and one sister, Karen 'Beth' Harlan. Surviving are: his wife, Marsha of Peoria; one son, Jason (Cora) Hamilton of Pekin, IL; one daughter, Jennifer (Darren)Genzen of Bloomington, IL; eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter; his mother, Lura Hamilton of Wyoming,IL; four brothers, Pastor Dave (Meg) Hamilton of Wyoming, IL, Pastor Roger (Lauretta) Hamilton of Pekin, Charles (Joanne) Hamilton of Shannon, IL, Terry Hamilton of Wyoming, IL and Pastor Joe (Celeste') Hamilton of Wyoming; seven sisters, Dorothy Jean (Roger) Fahnesock of Pekin, Nancy (Pastor Al) Harmon of Toulon, IL, Margaret Wallace of Neponset, IL, Wanda (Donnie) Greenway and Wendy (Jerry) Miller both of Wyoming, IL, Barbara Bost of Knoxville, TN and Mary (Kevin) Meeker of Wyoming, IL; many nieces and nephews. Al was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wyoming. He had a Love for the Lord. He was a machinist at Caterpillar Inc. for 41 years retiring in 2011. Al was an outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, camping, mushrooming and gardening. He was a sports fanatic. He loved spoiling his grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Pastor Joe Hamilton and Pastor Scott Weber officiating. Visitation will be for 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation has been accorded.
