Alta Joyce Parr

Alta Joyce Parr, 76, of Pekin, IL passed away at 8:50 pm Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at her home. Alta was born June 23, 1936 in Mason City, IL to David Vance and Daisy M. (Fletcher) Rusk. She married Roderick Parr on January 14, 1954. Proceeding in death is her parents, two sisters, Doris Hutton and June Rakestraw, one brother, Odell Rusk. Surviving is: her husband, Rod of Pekin; one son, Roderick V. 'Buster' (Karen) Parr of Pekin; two daughters, Debra Joyce Emmons of Marquette Heights, IL and Cindy Lou (Robert) Plemmons of Pekin; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; one brother, Billy Joe Rusk of Mason City, IL. Alta had worked at Hallmark Card Shop in the Pekin Mall and Miracle Mart. She enjoyed painting bird houses and playing Bunco with the girls. Alta and Rod loved spending their summers on Kentucky Lake. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. There will be no visitation.
