Alpha A. Schumm

Alpha A. Schumm, 91, of Manito, IL passed away at 3:45 AM Sunday, September 05, 2021 at OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Alpha was born on March 26, 1930 in Peoria to Vernie and Jessie (Clauser) Ethell. She married Robert Schumm on August 20, 1950 in Manito. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Dale Ethell. Surviving is: her husband, Bob of Manito; one son, Nile (Mickey) Schumm of Washington, IL; one daughter, Karen (Pete) Jacobson of Manito; six grandchildren, Sean (Kira) Schumm of Monmouth, IL, Jamie (Scott) Kammeyer of Manito, Andrea (Corey) Bennett of Merrill, WI, Kellie (Jim) Rumps of Bloomington, IL, Casey (Jenny) Schumm of Morton, IL and Lindsay (Brian) Goetz of Elgin, IL; Fourteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild coming in October. Alpha attended Grace Baptist Church in Tremont. She went to college at Illinois Wesleyan University for one year. She was a member of the Mason County 4H, past president of Womens Aglow, and taught a bible study group. She and her husband Bob wintered in Texas for 36 years. Private services will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Josh Beutow officiating. Burial in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
