Allen T. Shawgo

Allen T. Shawgo, 57, of Pekin, IL passed away unexpectedly at 6:20AM on Monday, October 12, 2026 at his home.

Allen was born on November 5, 1968, in Bloomington, IL to Walter and Sandra (Creemens) Shawgo. He married Cathy Whited on October 10, 1992 in Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving are: his wife, Cathy of Pekin; daughter, Ally (Tom) Hantak, one grandchild Abner Hantak of Marquette Heights, daughter, Madison (Michelle) Shawgo of Peoria; his mother, Sandra Shawgo of Mackinaw; two sisters, Michelle (Craig) Friend of Mackinaw, Pam (Scott) Zepplin of Pembroke, GA; in-laws, Deacon Ernie and Sandy Whited of Pekin.

Allen worked at Roehl Trucking. He worked there for 34 years, starting in 1992. He was driver of the year and had three and half – million safe miles. He enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, cooking meals to share with others, and tending to his garden. He also loved riding his E-Bike, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him, and watching ghost-hunting shows with his daughters. Known for his caring nature and willingness to look after others, Allen always put the needs of those he loved first. His kind heart, sense of humor, and thoughtful spirit touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
