Alice Nunes

Alice Nunes, 87, of 444 Parkway Dr. Pekin, IL passed away at 11:53 am Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Morton Terrace Care Center in Morton, IL. Alice was born March 14, 1921 in Morgan County, IL to Frank and Sara Ann (Clayton) Grider. She was married to Merle 'Bud' Nunes for over 45 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Leland and Russell Grider and one sister, Frances Paver. She is survived by: two great nieces, Mardell Schoenbein of Lakewood, CO and Tina Hoffmann of Peoria; one great nephew, Gene Grider of Mackinaw; one great great nephew, Jonathon; two great great nieces, Sarah and Clara; one step-son, Jerome Charles Nunes of Gaffney, SC; one step-daughter, Mary Ann Patterson of Gaffney, SC; six step-grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Before retiring Alice worked as a File Clerk for R.W. Troxell Insurance Agency in Springfield, IL. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pekin and Berean Baptist Church in Springfield, IL.
