Aldona Nevitt

Aldona Nevitt, 101, of Springfield, IL passed away at 10:50 AM Friday, August 23, 2013 at Fondulac Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in East Peoria, IL. Aldona was born September 3, 1911 in Springfield, IL to John Lagunas. She married Claude Nevitt. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Surviving is: one son, James (Andrea) Nevitt of Aurora, IL; two daughters, Jeanette (John) Palmer of Springfield, IL and Beverly (Jim) Starling of Pekin; one sister, Mildred Mack of Springfield, IL; seventeen grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Aldona worked at Pillsbury Mills in Springfield for many years. She enjoyed gardening, reading crocheting and knitting. She a member of the Lithuania Society Club in Springfield and was a Lithuania speech instructor. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, IL. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
