Albert V Hakes

Albert V. Hakes, 90, ofPekin died at 2:23 am, Monday, January 3, 2011 at Pekin Hospital. Albert was born on October 4, 1920 in Pekin, IL to Samuel and Kate (Briggs) Hakes.He married Esther Westerfield on May, 11, 1952 in Pekin, IL.She died on July 6, 1976. Also preceding Albert in death were his parents, one sister Ollie Oats, two brothers, Howard Hakes and Edgar Hakes and one nephew, Ernie Oats. Albert is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including nephew, Sam Oats of Lebanon, IN and niece, Shirley Martin, of Pekin, IL, with whom Albert was raised. Shirley Martin was Albert's caregiver, with lots of help from her cousin, Veva Martin.
