A. Barbara Dearborn Phelps, 88, of 500 Centennial Dr., East Peoria, formerly of Marquette Heights and Roanoke passed away at 8:10 am Monday, January 15, 2007 at her residence. Barbara was born June 6, 1918 in Braintree, MA to Cedric and Anna Rajula Fisher. She married John Dearborn June 20, 1942 in Greenfield, MA, he passed away August 13, 1991.She later married Lawson (Bill) Phelps in 1992 in Mansfield, MA, he passed away January 1998. Preceding her in death are two brothers. Surviving are: three sons; Robert J. (Sherry) Dearborn of Peoria, Dana F. (Gloria) Dearborn, of Marquette Heights, Dean E. Dearborn, of Williamsburg, VA; one step son, Dr. Ernest E. (Margaret) Phelps of Goldsboro, NC; two grandchildren, Tim Dearborn of Blue Island, IL and Sheri Callis of Channahon, IL; two step grandchildren, Brian Phelps and Elaine (Charlie) VanHoy of Goldsboro, NC; two great grandchildren and four great step grandchildren. Barbara was a teacher and principal at Rogers Elementary School in North Pekin for twenty-five years, retiring in 1977. She also ran a small department store, Lorene's Dept Store, in Roanoke. She was a member of the Tazewell County Retired Teachers. Barbara loved antiques and loved to travel. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Roanoke, IL and a former member of Marquette Heights Presbyterian Church.
