Louis R. Fischer Jr., 85, of North Pekin died at 3:41 pm Monday, February 15, 2010 at his home. Louis was born November 11, 1924 in Pekin to Louis R. and Etta (Stilts) Fischer Sr. He married Patricia M. Starcevich on May 28, 1947 in Springfield, IL. She died on March 12, 2008. Also preceding in death are three brothers, William, Woodrow and Donnie Fischer and three sisters, Emma Hodgson, Elizabeth Chitwood and Ann Bailey. Surviving are: one son, Frank (Cathy) Fischer of Bourbonnais, IL; two daughters, Martha (Denny) Brooks and Toni (Richard) Weber both of Pekin, IL; six grandchildren, Kristen (Jeff) Hayes of Eldridge, IA, Benjamin (Jeanette) Fischer of Hermosa, CA, Jeffrey (Danell) Brooks of Pekin, Andrew (Carrie) Brooks of Morton, IL, Patricia (Dan) Richmond of Tremont, IL and Nicholas Weber of Pekin, IL; thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Everett Fischer of Alabama. Louis was a WW II veteran of the United States Navy. He was a carpenter for over 42 years and served as Business Agent for Carpenter’s Local # 644 from 1963 - 1969. He was Superintendant for Del Construction from 1970 – 1973 and then was Director of Maintenance at the Pekin Public Library from 1973 – 1989. He attended the First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of BPOE Elks Lodge #1271, Pekin Moose Lodge #916 and William Schafer Post #44 American Legion in Pekin. Funeral InformationMemorial services will be at 10:00 am Friday, February 19, 2010 at Henderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Kristie Peterson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 am – 10:00 am Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded.
