Woody was born on October 24, 1933 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Van E. and Pearl (Tipton) Logan. He married Carol Lee Latina in 1953 in Belleville, Illinois. She died April 15, 2008 and was known as Mrs. Santa Claus in the Pekin and Peoria area. Woody was her avid chauffeur.

Woody was employed in the meat packing industry and worked at processing plants in Indianapolis, Indiana; Peoria, Illinois; Sioux City, Iowa; Kansas City, Missouri; and St. Joseph, Missouri, before retiring.
A rabid Republican, Woody enjoyed arguing politics, reading history--especially The Battle of Waterloo and Scottish Clan history, classical music, the painting "Christina's World" by Andrew Wyeth and eating the pizza, sausage sandwiches and the occasional squirrel cacciatore at Agatucci's in Peoria. Woody was a nephew of the illustrious Democratic US Senator from Kentucky, Marvel Mills Logan.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife, and a son-in-law, Santi J. "Nick" DeMarini.
He is survived by two daughters; Karen DeMarini of Tremont, Illinois and Laurie Logan of St. Joseph, Missouri, two grandchildren; Michael Logan Alexander "Alex" DeMarini of Tremont, Illinois and Marisa Adelina DeMarini of Chicago, Illinois, numerous nieces and nephews and three brothers; Ralph (Martha) Logan of Blue Ash, Ohio; Ray (Margaret) Logan of Point Abino, Ontario and Naples, Florida and Ret. Col. James (Carol) Logan of Alexandria, Virginia.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Honan and Pekin Hospital for the excellent care that Woody received during his illness.
Faretheewell to our father, grandfather, uncle, brother, friend . . . curmudgeon. Who ever shall we argue with now?
