Raymond D. "Doug" Covington

Raymond D. “Doug” Covington, 76, of Pekin, formerly of 1413 Black St., passed away at 1:30 pm Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Lake Placid Florida while spending the winter in Florida.

Doug was born March 1, 1933 in Bowen Township, Arkansas to Leo and Stella (Potter) Covington. He married Joyce Bozarth on September 3, 1960 at Pekin, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Darrin (Joanna) Covington and Devin (Cindy) Covington both of Pekin; one sister Jessie Ghidina of Florida; one grandson, Devin J. Covington, and two granddaughters, Charissa and Whitney Covington all of Pekin.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Eugene and one sister, Carol.

He was retired in 1995 from Ameren/Cilco after forty three years of service.

Doug was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1869. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #44, Pekin Moose Lodge #916 and VFW.

Funeral Information

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded. Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin is assisting Doug’s family with arrangements.
